Reporting to the Group ER Manager, you will provide support and advices across all elements of the Industrial and Employee Relations agenda.

  • Participate in enterprise bargaining activities, including contract administration, grievance responses, arbitration preparation, negotiation preparation and strike contingency planning;
  • Negotiating and drafting enterprise agreements and similar workplace agreements;
  • EA and Award interpretation with solid knowledge of Fair Work Act / Legislation;
  • Liaising with relevant union organisers and officials;
  • Drafting and reviewing employment agreements, policies and procedures;
  • Prepare for and when necessary attend mediations, arbitration, and other court proceedings;

To succeed in this opportunity, you will be suitably qualified with tertiary qualifications in Industrial relations / law. Your expertise is drawn from delivering ‘hands on’ IR solutions within a complex commercial environment, in line with broader people and business objectives. Strong stakeholder management skills will be valued highly, as will your ability to partner with the payroll to in relation to rate increases for wage / EA employees and labour hire. There is a preference for those who have experience providing Industrial advice and support within major industry – construction/manufacturing industries.

You will be comfortable liaising and negotiating with senior leaders and will be available for semi-frequent travel. Your energy and high level of self-confidence will enable your communication and effectiveness across all levels of the organisation. We are looking for a savvy IR specialist who has the ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will need substantial experience with the Australian industrial landscape and be well networked. We are looking for self starters who can think on their feet and build strong working partnerships.
