- ICT Help Desk Support Officer -

My client is an Australian Government Department seeking an experienced ICT Help Desk Support Officer to be a key player in their business operations. This is an initial 12 month (with view to extend) contract based in Newcastle.

As the ICT Help Desk Support Officer - you will be responsible for:

  • Respond to incoming inquiries in a confidential, responsive, customer focused manner and ensure that accurate, targeted and timely information supplied effectively resolves the customer request.
  • Effectively apply new and or updated technology applications, systems, procedures and organisational methods to deliver efficient and effective services in accordance with Department policy.
  • Providing and handling end user phone calls, providing support, logging tickets, responding to queries via an online system
  • Provide a range of quality ICT Support Services to Department’s customers to support the efficient operations of DoE business and contribute to efficient service delivery.

Essential & Desirable Skills:

  • IT Background - previous experience in an IT helpdesk role would be ideal
  • Experience required: Previous IT helpdesk experience and high level of customer service experience (min 1 year+)
  • System Specification requirements: worked with ticketing system before (e.g. Remedy) would be highly advantageous as well SAP experience (from a user perspective)
  • Qualifications: ITIL certification (nice to have, but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Well organised and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills bot written and verbal.
