Your new organisation is a major international law firm with 4000 staff operating across six continents.

They are a truly entrepreneurial firm and have circa 300 employees nationally across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

This role will report into the Chief Operating Officer based in Sydney, with a functional reporting line into the Head of HR for the region. You will lead an HR team of five in both Sydney and Melbourne as the National HR Manager for the firm.

The Opportunity

As HR Manager, Australia you will report into the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for driving and delivering a contemporary and relevant HR function. You will manage and develop a small HR team and partner with the business on all HR-related strategy and operations. This will include; employee relations, training and development, organisational design, transformation and change, talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, succession planning and talent management, remuneration and benefits, workplace health & safety and wellbeing.

Your experience

  • With a Bachelors Degree in HRM or equivalent you will be an experienced, generalist HR leader with experience managing a HR function.
  • Experience working within global matrix environments with matrix reporting
  • You will have the ability to contribute strategically as a trusted voice at the Executive level as the SME in HR and execute on people and culture initiatives.
  • Evidence of leading an HR team
  • You enjoy working in an operational and strategic role.
  • You have strong interpersonal and influencing skills and able to engage at all levels of an organisation.
  • Professional services and industry experience of operating within a partnership environment is essential.
