The role of the International Logistics and Trade specialist is to plan, organise and deliver all international freight requirements to a best practice level in terms of both cost and service delivery. This includes managing relationships with, but not limited to, internal stakeholders, external customers, freight brokers and directly with freight companies. Drawing on your background in international logistics and supply chain you will also drive the development and application of processes to deliver continuous improvement across our wider supply chain.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the preparation of all international freight shipments to ensure they arrive on time, inc all related shipping and customs paperwork (Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Health, CIQ, Bill of Landing, SLI’s, ChAFTA & Other trade agreements etc)
  • Manage all freight to ensure the lowest items are subject to the lowest tariffs. This will include HS code management across all products
  • Analyse aspects of the supply chain related to international logistics and provide solutions that will drive efficiencies and cost savings across the business
  • Work closely with the internal stakeholders to ensure benchmark performance against all customer service deliverables – including DIFOT measures
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reporting packs to management team

Skills and Experience

  • 3/5 years in international freight, logistics & supply chain
  • Tertiary qualification in logistics or supply chain
  • Experience dealing with or operating inside an international freight forwarding business
  • Reads, analyzes and interprets highly complex international regulations and procedures
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency across various ERP/warehouse management systems
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to collate data from various sources into a useable form that drives better decision making
  • Ability to look at situations from multiple points of view
  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment
