Role – IT Project Manager, Projects in the application space (application development and/or cloud migration / implementation), Prince 2, SaaS

Location: Sydney CBD

Duration: 12 month contract + Extension

Rate guide: Attractive Daily Rate (Please call to discuss)

Overview:

My Client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager for delivery of a number of projects within the Business Systems Projects Portfolio. The projects are being undertaken by the Information Services Unit on behalf of a broad group of internal stakeholders. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, and management of projects and ensuring strong engagement within the company’s business area.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the business context of projects and successfully manage the relationship with the business client and all stakeholders to achieve business and project outcomes
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in delivering solutions on in an enterprise environment with adherence to PRINCE2 framework.
  • Minimum 20 years in IT, with recent experience managing acquisition and implementation of software as a service (SaaS) projects,
  • Experience with successful implementation of integration with on premise components
  • Expertise managing suppliers for delivery of project and support services delivery within terms of contract
  • High level interpersonal and team management skills for establishing good working relationships with fellow IT colleagues, the business and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial management and accounting transactional systems
  • Experience in local government sector will be well regarded
  • Strong understanding of business change management
  • Strong capability with Microsoft Project and all MS Office products
