The Company:

A recognised and envied builder in the Commercial Retail Space, whom consistently seems to have the eyes of its competitors watching their progress. Recently they have secure a large Retail Project $25 million in Sydney and are being very selective about talent to bring on the project.

The Site Manager, placed by Randstad has requested a solid multi skilled Leading Hand (Carpenter) to join this new Full Build and Fit Out asap.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the allocated Site Manager you will be responsible for tools and supervision, running with the plumber, running with the civil’s , pushing the trades, interpreting plans and helping the daily operations of a busy site.

The current stage of the project is groundwork’s, so experience understanding footings, pads, sewer and stormwater is highly advantageous to the Site Manager at this stage. Ideally you will encompass this experience but also then have the background blend in building roofing, walkways, handrails and walkways etc.


  • Supervision / co-ordination of trades, site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Documenting site activity
  • Compliance and monitoring of WHS
  • Ensuring carpentry works are being carried out in accordance to plans.
  • Working closely with the Foreman to review the status of the project.


  • You will be trade or tertiary qualified in Carpentry / Joinery.
  • Experience complying with WHS
  • 2 years experience working on Commercial or New Build
  • High communication skills and attention to detail
  • Be hungry to fast track up the ranks in a bustling environment.
