As a key statutory authority of the Victorian Government, our client is currently seeking a Legal Assistant join their team. Located in the CBD this role is a 2 month temporary assignment with the view for an extension.

The key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • General team administrative support to multiple solicitors.
  • Prepare draft briefs of evidence and instructions for counsel within litigations and prosecutions, under the direction of a solicitor.
  • Prepare and or assist in the preparation of cases for hearing at Tribunals, Magistrates Court and the Supreme Court, under the direction of a solicitor.
  • Support solicitor(s) in their advice and litigation work, as agreed by the Branch Manager.
  • Undertake legal administrative work, as required, such as typing, photocopying, filing and service of documents, as agreed by the Branch Manager.
  • Undertake some ad hoc legal administrative work, including preparation of reports or taking phone calls, as necessary.
