A PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY has become available for an ICONIC SYDNEY CBD BASED CLIENT of ours, looking for a PERMANENT MAINTENANCE FITTER to join their team. If you are a qualified and experienced maintenance fitter who is HARD WORKING, RELIABLE, METICULOUS AND HAS A KEEN EYE FOR DETAIL, takes INITIATIVE, and knows how to meet productivity outcomes and objectives without compromising safety and quality then this position is for you!

Applicants ideally will need to possess the following:

  • Trade Qualified Fitter or hold Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (ARTC)
  • Minimum 3 years post trade experience
  • Extensive working experience as fitter in maintenance, fault-finding, diagnostics, trouble-shooting and repairs.
  • Be reliable, self motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines and timeframes without compromising safety.
  • Demonstrate and compliant towards safety working procedures and standards
  • Be enthusiastic, punctual, and have a positive attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accurate and timely record keeping.
  • Have the Right to Work in Australia
  • Any of the following tickets and experience would be advantageous: Forklift, Working at Heights, Confined Space etc.
  • Some previous exposure to computerised maintenance management systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to work on a ROTATING ROSTER.

The position may involve and not limited to the below mentioned. The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Assemble, install, test and maintain mechanical systems, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and tools to locate the cause of the break down and correct the problem.
  • Manage/ maintain spare parts control and consumption.
  • Inspect mechanical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
  • Varied shifts will involve preventative maintenance and reactive response to operational requests.
  • Ensure that all WHS Code Compliance and industry standards are fully and efficiently met.
  • Advise management whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous or unsafe or detrimental to the lifespan of the equipment.
  • Identify record and communicate issues impacting on operations and visitor experience.
  • Due to nature of work environment and vicinity, you may be required to work from ladders, scaffolds, roofs and elevated platforms to service or repair equipment and fixtures.
  • Perform all trade and non-trade related work activities as scheduled, allocated and instructed.
  • Complete and update work orders and reporting requirements in detail and with accuracy (MEX)
