The company

Our client is a family owned and operated business that has worked their way up in the cleaning, technology, construction, environmental divisions for the past 20yrs.

With over 30 full time staff and nearly 200 casual employees all with less than a 1% turnover, this business has a great culture and family feel.

They are currently in a large growth phase and after an internal promotion, the position of National Sales Manager has become available for an innovative and creative sales manager with a construction/building sales background.

The role

Currently managing two long term sales representatives with long tenure, and with vacancies to recruit - this role will see you pushing to achieve budget across the board, whilst providing you with full autonomy to alter and adapting the sales strategy, as you see fit.

Key responsibilities of this role are (but not limited to):

  • Increase sales and manage current sales strategies
  • Identify new markets and opportunities within the capabilities of the business and present business cases to be implemented
  • Develop and manage local area marketing programs
  • Support and assist in devising and implementing effective marketing strategies
  • Nurture current client relationships and support customers with their supply needs
  • Foster new client relationships and establish new customers
  • Ensuring a safe working environment for all
  • Develop and motivate the sales team to improve productivity and effectiveness
  • Identity medium to large scale projects and seek sales opportunities in these areas

The ideal candidate

Ideally, you will have experience managing a sales team within either the; building, construction, events management or industrial industry. You will have the knowledge to understand how to pitch for tenders, where to discover these and have no hesitation in motivating/training your staff to do the same.

To be successful in this role you will have;

  • A very fair, yet honest management style
  • Great energy and drive, whilst being a strong ‘people-person’
  • Innovative and intuitive approach, and the ability to see business performance improvements
  • Confidence to be able to present ideas to the BoD as well as potential clients
  • Understanding of the tender process and knowledge of the industry
  • Proven ability managing a sales team
  • Experience solely gaining small to multi million dollar contracts
