job description

We are recruiting exclusively for one of the largest consultancy and business services firms in the world as they seek to hire a payroll officer in their HR team in Melbourne CBD.

Their offices are conveniently located in the central area of the CBD, you will find first class amenities and a comfortable working environment.

Based within the HR function, reporting to the HR manager and working in a team of 2 payroll specialists, you would be responsible for the successful administration of payroll for their 1,500 Australian employees (5-6 EBAs) and a small cohort of expats.

The Business:

Founded 100 years ago, this business has grown through a mixture of opening new offices across the globe and a series of mergers. They are one of the largest consulting organisations in the world and employ over 50,000 people worldwide.

Having worked with the business on multiple occasions over the past 7 years I can vouch that they have a welcoming and positive culture. They are progressive and pride themselves on their openness, transparency, integrity and co-operation.

The business puts a high emphasis on developing their staff and they will support the successful candidate with training and development. A significant amount of people that I've placed within the finance and HR teams over the past few years have been promoted and gained new skills through this culture.

The Role:

- Working with the outsourced provider to ensure that the accurate information that the payroll team in Melbourne has given them has been correctly transposed into the pay file.

- Liaising with employees on queries relating to pay, their EBAs, awards and superannuation.

- Liaising with finance in relation to payroll tax.

- Exception reporting with the pay file & ensuring variances are explained.

- Pulling information from the system in order to report on payroll statistics.

- Ensuring that the single-touch-payroll 3rd party has all the information they require.

- Ensuring that superannuation is paid correctly.

- Carrying out other payroll tasks.

The Opportunity

- A great opportunity to join a stable business.

- A good and positive manager who treats their team the way that they would like to be treated themselves.

- Progression opportunities within the organisation.
