To be successful in this role you will have had 5+ years’ experience leading a successful team in either a manufacturing environment with complex processes or in a pre-delivery department at dealership level managing a pre delivery team with tight service deadlines.

This is a fast paced and high energy environment and will suit somebody who is armed with both technical and practical skills to troubleshoot any jobs and oversee the production process. You will be a go getter who has started your work life on the tools and has moved your way into management through a strong work ethic, ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives and effectively manage staff to ensure company objectives are met.

Ideally you will have great business smarts and the ability to plan, prioritize, direct and co-ordinate the production process and production team in compliance with company goals. You will be aware of lean manufacturing techniques and implement processes to improve overall efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capability leading successful teams and use your exceptional communication skills to be a super star at motivating, training and influencing staff with varying skill levels.

Your day will be filled with but not limited to:

  • Supervising the entire production operation including workflow management
  • Organisation of production staff and labour hire staff including leave planning
  • Liaising with leading hands, scheduling and sales manager and coordinate and planning production requirements based on customer demands
  • Analyse and improve the production process using lean manufacturing techniques and driving changes to maximise efficiencies and ensure effective employment utilization
  • Identify and monitor production errors, and report on DIFOT %
  • Staff recruitment, inductions, SWI training and staff development for production team
  • Ensure production activities comply with WHS polices and legislation
  • Troubleshoot repair of machinery and organise equipment plant checks etc
  • Weekly reporting on production errors, DIFOT levels and customer issue management
  • Analysing delivery and inventory level issues
