This local Council is looking to engage a Project Engineer / Asset Coordinator on a initial 6-12 month contract. The main purpose of this position is to manage, promote and coordinate the utilisation of Council's Asset Management System.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for various civil projects and capital works. They will coordinate asset condition inspections in accordance with relevant Asset Management Plans and update plans as required. Undertake periodic evaluation of Council's current asset database and recommend improvements. Develop and prepare budget forecasts for 10 year financial plans. They will prepare cost estimates, plans, drawings, contract documentation reports and correspondence associated with various civil projects and capital works.
The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Project Management. Have a minimum of 2 years experience as an engineer in a related field. Have an understanding of Asset Management Principles and understand the process involved in preparing tender documentation and contract administration.
You will have excellent organisational and communication skills. Have demonstrated computer skills in particular database and spreadsheet usage. Hold a current drivers license.
