Role Description

Due to continued and sustained growth within all sectors of our client’s business, we are now seeking an experienced project engineer to join their team located in Melbourne (South-Eastern Suburbs), with responsibility across Victoria.

You will be delegated to deliver value on the below tasks:

  • Maintain high standard safety (JSA) and permits prior to construction project initiation.
  • Conducting internal toolbox meetings and coordinating subcontractors for external toolbox and trainings.
  • Specifications and standards compliance with project issued drawings and instructions.
  • Construction material supply management
  • Electrical Inspections and certifications management
  • Supervise electrical installations and ensure fault rectifications maintenance
  • Responsible for maintenance operation of NBN telecommunications network business customer connections and faults. Including fibre optic cable network and repeater stations, power supplies and transmission systems.
  • NBN Project Operations within our client company's responsibilities
  • Faults, repairs, network augmentation and extensions as directed by NBN.
  • Customer connections and faults management
  • Liaison with NBN and one of its major subcontractors to deliver operational NBN network within Victoria
  • Providing and developing processes for contractors to undertake NBN connections and faults.
  • Training and development of our clients’ contractors involved with NBN demand drops and maintenance within Victoria.
  • Maintenance of NBN FAN sites and passive network.
  • Handover from construction into operations.
  • NBN Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) supervision.
  • Reviewing extensions to be fit for purpose as part of a team.
  • Field contractor supervision.
  • Integration of copper materials with optical fibre network.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Engineering Tertiary Qualification and/or 4 Years industry experience (1 year in telecommunications)
  • White Card
  • Pit / Trench work experience
  • Forecasting and programme update experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem Solving
  • Report writing
