The Client
Our client manufactures, markets and distributes speciality pharmaceuticals for the prevention and treatment of serious disease.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Project Management this role will provide operational and strategic project management leadership for complex technical projects.

The Responsibilities
Provide Project Management leadership for downstream optimisation projects for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Lead cross-functional Core Project Team operationally and strategically
Develop integrated project plan and determine project milestones.
Develop Gantt chart project deliverables and tasks encompassing technical development activities through to pilot and commercial scale.
Document Project Scope, Project Schedule, Project Budget, Risk Management Plan using appropriate software and templates
Maintain integrated project plan to track risk
Monitor cross-functional project activities for adherence to milestone timelines, deliverables and budget against approved plan
Chair meetings for efficient and effective outcomes
Provide timely, accurate and objective project status reports for the Technical Review Board
Provide Project Management support to Working Groups or Expert Teams serving the CPT as necessary
Provide informal mentoring and on-the-job training to less experienced Project Managers

The Requirements
Considerable experience in Project Management related to development and implementation of methods to manufacture drugs/biologics, including changes to Operations/Manufacturing and Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls.
Highly organised, proactive, results-driven
Strategic with ability to see the “big picture” and identify developing issues
Strong critical thinking skills with objective interpretation of scientific and commercial data
Very strong interpersonal skills with ability to bridge between scientific and non-scientific team members
Strong team player with ability to manage subordinates or mentor others
Strong negotiation skills with ability to persuade others and understand the position of others
Strong verbal communication skills including public presentation; strong written communication skills
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential; familiarity with software used for PM tracking tools

The Person
Masters or Doctoral degree in life-sciences, medical-related sciences or public health with specialisation in Project Management beneficial.
5+ years of relevant post-undergraduate work or academic experience
2+ years of directly relevant PM experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably manufacturing of vaccines or other biologics.
