Position purpose

Working within the Water Resource Assessment Branch, the main responsibilities will be:

  • developing technical specifications for a number of projects related to the development and application of knowledge for the Victorian water sector in the fields of climate science, hydrology and water resources
  • managing procurement processes for these work packages
  • providing a range of other support services to the team, including business and administrative support

The role requires qualifications in science, engineering, natural resource management or other relevant disciplines that relate to climate science and/or water resources. Previous water sector experience is highly desirable, along with an ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Specialist/Technical Expertise: Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, natural resource management or other relevant disciplines that relate to climate science and/or water resources is required
  • Policy and projects: Strong project management and procurement skills and experience
  • Planning and organising: Develops and implements systems and procedures to guide work and track progress; recognises barriers and finds effective ways to deal with them
