Main duties:

  • Monitor and control stock levels to ensure that stock on hand is available to cover production and customer requirements (Pronto database)
  • Plan, implement and co-ordinate the flow of materials into and out of existing inventory so that the supply of materials is co-ordinated in accordance with budget and production requirements taking into account variability in market conditions, stock availability and product costs
  • Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers, materials and packaging for current and new product development so that supplies of material and stock meets production schedules
  • Liaise with logistic companies with co-ordinating transport of goods from overseas ensuring delivery timeframes meet production schedules
  • Raise Purchase Orders and co-ordinate supplier delivery within agreed timeframes
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with suppliers so that pricing and delivery of raw materials are managed within established timeframes
  • Co-ordinate return of stock with suppliers where QA assess material standards do not meet product specification
  • Contribute to meeting customer expectations by building and maintaining close partnerships with internal stakeholders (Production, Warehouse, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service)

Essential criteria:

  • Solid experience with Pronto (or similar ERP system, e.g. SAP) and proficient with Microsoft Excel (Intermediate)
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role with exposure to the import and export of stock
  • Experience in the Food Industry would be highly regarded
  • Proven ability to coordinate the material supply process within the FMCGs industry
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary purchasing and inventory practices
  • Experience in analysing, interpreting and reporting data to review, validate and update systems and processes
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, and a solutions-focused approach to problem solving and decision-making
