*Please note: This position is Darwin Based, not FIFO

The successful applicant will;

Manage & develop the team. Tender for new projects & estimate & calculate costing. You will oversee and manage contracts, complying with quality assurance certification.

Ensure time management and delivery, is within the agreed scope, complying with Workplace Health & Safety Principles and Procedures.

Must be Qualified: Licensed Sanitary Plumber or Equivelant

Roles & Responsibilites:

Your Team & You

  • Mentor & develop key team members
  • Takes accountability for own actions and for the actions of team members reporting to them
  • Ensure performance reviews are conducted as a matter of priority
  • Communicates frequently with regular pre-start and tool box meetings
  • Acts as a trainer and mentor to team

Managing relationships

  • Regular liaison with the client, site manager & team
  • Manage, lead and drive site staff to ensure site construction activities are focused on and completed on time
  • Regularly hold construction review meetings with Site Manager
  • Constructively and effectively manage key stakeholder relationships

Tenders & Job Estimating / Costing

  • Develop job costs / estimate
  • Review and issue all project plans & programs in accordance with agreed requirements
  • Develop and submit tenders & proposals
  • Prepare technical review of tender documentation in a timely manner for potential inclusion in submission
  • Application of best practice in costing, design, contract and project management

Manage contracts

  • Effective management of subcontractors & supplier to minimise over-runs, unresolved disputes or claims
  • Delivery of gross revenue and margin budgets and ensuring projects are completed on time
  • Attendance at all client meetings
  • Prompt and effective issue resolution


  • Ensure that an appropriate level of safety awareness is maintained by the team
  • Liaise with safety representative as required

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achieve budget as determined by Divisional Manager or Managing Director
  • Projects managed according to timeframes / deadlines
  • Retain staff - ensure turnover of staff is minimal
  • Ensure all legislative requirements are met (OH&S and quality / compliance standards for work)
  • Completes all necessary administration requirements & ensures that team also complete administration requirements in a timely manner (team member’s timesheets etc)
  • Assist Service Division in dealing with past managed projects


 Prior experience working as a Site Manager in the Plumbing field


  • Knowledge and application of AS 3500
  • Knowledge and application of AS 1428
  • Knowledge and application of Authority Trade Waste Requirements
  • Knowledge of Australian Workplace legislation and or Company Collective Agreement
  • Working knowledge of information technology requirements and applications
