Our client is a leading manufacturer of ground support equipment for the defence and commercial aviation sector is seeking a Sales and Service Manager to join its busy team.

As the Sales and Service Manager (Ground Support Equipment), you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day oversight of GSE projects, new sales and ongoing service and aftermarket sales requirements.

You will act as the primary point of contact for all new and existing GSE customers and provide leadership and direction to the GSE manufacturing and service personnel to meet the set production and sales targets. You will develop close working relationships with the operational managers and design and engineering team.

Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Generating sales from new and existing clients the Ground Support Equipment products and services
  • Responding to RFQ’s for the Ground Support Equipment
  • Receive orders from the Customer and co-ordinate GSE build projects
  • Work with the operational managers to ensure that the items are manufactured within the required timeframe to satisfy the Customer schedule.
  • Provide clear instruction, direction and data input into Project Meetings
  • Lead the team in GSE product innovation
  • Co-ordinate and execute customer engagement and sales strategies
  • Develop an understanding of GSE solution offering, and be able to link our customer’s needs to the solutions we provide
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the customer base, and the overall market in which we operate
  • Promote and sell GSE parts and service solutions
  • Some interstate and international travel may be required.

Ideally to succeed you will hold the following:

  • Previous experience within a sales / project management role
  • A trade, technical or engineering background
  • Knowledge of ground support equipment / mechanical knowledge
  • Team orientated
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to meet deadlines and use planning skills
