Randstad is working in partership with large Government organisation to help them resource a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer for an intial six months contract based in Sydney CBD.

Primary purpose of the role:

  • The Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for providing deep technical expertise in support of all activities related to cloud infrastructure architecture and networking across a variety of platforms and operating systems.
  • This individual must possess extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and network infrastructure technology for enterprise applications.
  • As an innovative problem solver, the individual will support the development and operation of solutions in cloud infrastructure technologies and networking.

Key accountabilities

  • Provide technical leadership and assistance to the infrastructure and development teams.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure to support the objectives of NSW Trustee and Guardian.
  • Automate and manage system build, software deployment and monitoring.
  • Deploy and scale infrastructure for multiple build environments (Dev, Test, QA, Prod).
  • Develop documentation for best practices as it relates to server infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud computing operational experience.
  • Participate in requirements engineering, scrum planning, and technical discussions.

Essential skills & experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience administering cloud or infrastructure services across a large, diverse, enterprise environment
  • Technical proficiency including systems experience, strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, and issue management in a multi-platform environment
  • Experience in the design, implantation, and management of major Public Cloud platforms especially Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Working knowledge of major Private Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Understanding of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, WINS, load balancing and firewalling concepts.
  • Intermediate knowledge of directory services, authentication technologies, Active Directory/LDAP, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of system and network security best practices including governance.
  • Intermediate knowledge of primary AWS (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3, & VPC) and Azure services
