It’s an exciting time of change in the energy sector, as participants, governments and customers work to adapt to the changing market. My client is at the centre of many of these changes, as it seeks to balance the triple challenge of providing its customers with affordable, reliable and sustainable energy supplies.

Reporting to the Media & External Affairs Manager, the Media and External Affairs Adviser will lead the creation, development, analysis, and distribution of easily accessible and engaging content across the traditional digital and social channels.

This role also plays an important part in the organisations CSR program.

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role you will bring the following qualifications, skills and experience with you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, or a related field,
  • Experience in communications planning/strategy development and execution, including the creation of content plans and compelling content for distribution across a range of communications channels
  • Proven experience developing, pitching, and securing coverage which positively profiles the brand across a range of media – including trade, online, and traditional media
  • Copywriting experience with an ability to distil complex technical information for a range of external (and internal) audiences,
  • Experience in agency, government, or related environments will be highly regarded,
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver time-critical work under broad direction, in a fast-paced and evolving environment,
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as part of an engaged and high performing External Affairs team,
  • Experience in the energy and/or infrastructure industry is desirable but not essential,
  • Superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence stakeholders at a range of levels,
  • An ability to understand complex technical information and interpret it for a range of audiences,
  • Photography and graphic design skills, including experience producing content for corporate channels using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop,
  • Experience in video production will also be highly regarded.
