A leading life insurer has created an exciting and challenging opportunity to join their innovative life insurance product team who are responsible for the retail, group and direct channels of the business.

About the role:

Reporting to the national Manager the Senior Product Development Manager is responsible for overseeing innovation and development of life insurance products. The key purpose of the role is ensuring that the life insurance product offering is continually improved to meet the competitive environment, changes in customer and adviser behavior and changes in the regulatory landscape.

Your responsibilities:

  • Research and report areas that impact on customer demand and purchasing behaviors of the target customers.
  • Develop strategy for the development of life insurance offerings across bank distributed, direct, platform, and stand alone retail life channels
  • Produce regular report into product strategy including measurement of performance on implemented strategies, including areas such as market share analysis, and other key success measures
  • Interface with other divisions and strategy teams in driving product development across business
  • Develop business cases with key stakeholders
  • Develop research and development function required to continue to deliver first class life insurance offers to market. Ensure adopt latest customer research behaviour such as Customer Centric Design in development of strategy
  • Instil disciplines such as Design Thinking within the broader product team to ensure a customer centric and achievement culture is developed
  • Identify opportunities to help promote the use of the retail products amongst advisers and customers.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business related discipline
  • Minimum of 4-5 years experience in financial services industry
  • Experience in service design and/or design thinking
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current life insurance market
  • Experience in presenting in both technical and sales focused environment
  • Proven track record and experience of financial products with experience in insurance
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
