About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to establish and lead a workforce management implementation project in collaboration with wider business and project teams including Project Sponsors, Business SMEs, Change Manager and the Technology Programme Director.

A greenfield project from discovery phase all the way to execution!

About you

You will have strong experience in developing and establishing core elements of a WFM function including lessons learned along the journey.

You will also exhibit exemplary stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills and have extensive experience in creating actionable deliverables for managing cultural change within an organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop the business requirements and analyses including the project delivery approach and methodology. This includes various stages of the project such as; Discovery, current state assessment, future state definition and implementation framework and project work streams reflecting the various core elements of WFM (i.e.technology, applications, systems, process and data).
  • To create actionable deliverables for the change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan
  • Collaborating with the Technology Change Manager, assess the change impact including the identification of anticipated resistance.
  • To act as a coach and advocate for other technology PMs and senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfil the role of technology champion for those projects that they sponsor or are the customer.
  • Implement systems and processes, working closely with the Sponsors, business SMEs Programme Change manager to realise the vision for reporting analytics and systems interfaces to leverage business critical work force planning datasets.
  • Provide leadership through supervising and mentoring staff and through the development of a strong team culture.
  • Acknowledges and recognises good performance and tackles under- performance.
  • Leads and supports others through change.
  • Support a culture in which learning, and development are encouraged and supported.
  • Promote employee engagement through open and up-front communication, providing regular feedback on performance and displaying a genuine care for employee well-being
  • Implement and maintain conformance with the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework in areas of responsibility, including risk assessments and reviews, controls and actions monitoring to ensure risk is managed within approved tolerances.
  • Identify roles and responsibilities for the frameworks aligned to modern data and analytics framework.
  • Build collaborative relationships with external stakeholders including Government, local councils, community organisations and special interest groups.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal relationships to identify and facilitate customer experience improvements.
  • Work with workplace relations to minimise industrial relations impact on project delivery.

Must have skills:

  • Desirable Project management APM, PMI Accreditation, PRINCE 2.
  • Strong experience in developing and establishing core elements of a WFM function including lessons learned along the journey.
  • A strong business acumen and commercial outlook is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering major sustainable change.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience within a schedule of service environment such as airlines, rail transportation environment, government enterprise, and industrial environment with a high degree of appreciation of implementing new systems within a railway operations culture is desirable.
