Production Shift Supervisor

Our client is one of the leading food manufacturing companies in Australia, are seeking to be the number 1 leader globally. Randstad In-House are actively recruiting Shift Supervisors who are active leaders, culturally focused and who are SME’s in their field. In this role you will be required to lead & develop teams to meet production targets that are set.

Reporting into the Shift Manager, this is a team leading role where you will be responsible for:

  • Exceptional communication, coaching and mentoring skills to achieve performance goals and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Assisting all production operators in maintaining production, safety, quality, environmental and productivity standards
  • Managing and optimising the team along the production line, ensuring production performance expectations and employee targets are achieved
  • Manage a highly motivated team accepting ownership for the safety of the team, quality and quantity of its product, working together in a cooperative and supportive manner
  • Drive a culture that improves and maintains safety throughout the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with site WHS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety walks, talks, internal audits, training.
  • Ensure all aspects of performance and to instigate remedial action to maintain efficiency and least cost practices.

To be successful in this role you will be required to:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Production Supervisory role preferably within the Food Manufacturing Industry
  • Experience with leading and engaging a team, with the capability to create a collaborative and positive working environment
  • Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives through implementing strategies
  • Ability to coach and develop others, monitor and measure performance and provide direct feedback
  • Ensure product is manufactured according to specification
  • Ensure all work is completed according to quality procedures
  • Lead a team to achieve a safe and efficient production and warehouse environment
  • Check specification sheets and sign off on new jobs
  • Confirm and authorise production sheets, time sheets and other paperwork as required.
  • Perform manufacturing capability trials for new products or raw materials and keep adequate records
  • Experience working in a HACCP environment and/or management of a HACCP system will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a Safety culture with an Environmental and Quality focus

This role is an ongoing casual role to begin with and will lead onto permanent work with our client.
