An exciting opportunity has become available and we are looking for a suitable National Facilities Manager to fulfil the team.

The State Facilities Manager is responsible for high quality property services across the residential communities’ portfolio including repairs and maintenance, CAPEX and OPEX and minor projects. The role supports the Maintenance Officer in the delivery of day-to-day maintenance including repairs, grounds and associated services. Communication with stakeholders including management, residents, contractors and authorities is a vital part of the success of the asset management business unit. A key requirement is the setting and managing of budgets and ensuring the properties are safe and meet all compliance requirements at all times. The incumbent is required to solve and ensure a pro-active approach.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Create feasibility and concept inputs to go out for tender and review RFT (Request for tender) responses as well as managing defect rectification of new building handovers.
  • Develop and prepare scope of works relating to CAPEX and LTMF/CMF.
  • Review operational needs/opportunities and develop strategies to suit while working closely with operations.
  • Ensuring that all WH&S/Risk measurements are met and compliance of industry standards are guaranteed.
  • Engage and supervise contractors and consultants to undertake works on allocated projects in addition to ensure that resources for these projects are kept within budget and designs can be built within budget constraints and agreed timelines.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, village/RACF and sales managers as required and build strong relationships with Head or Property and Asset Management peers on nominated task to deliver best practise.
  • Mentor maintenance officers and assist site managers with preparation of annual maintenance budgets and selection of contractors.
  • Partner and collaborate across functions to deliver on key strategic initiatives and rive customer obsession.
  • Manage people processes, risk management frameworks, and your responsible workforce resources, including effective management of FTE budgets.

Furthermore, we are seeking applicants with a specific skillset and working experience, to include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a construction management, property management discipline OR trade qualified coupled with relevant work experience as a senior within facility management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of hospital/aged care or residential living facilities.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record guiding and motivation others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build collaborative and productive relationships with the executives, colleagues, stakeholders and employees.
  • Strong written and presentations skills including demonstrated ability to skilfully communicate complex information and issues to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and manage green and brownfield projects.
  • Holds a valid driving license.
