The Client

Major opportunity to work with main contractor on the NBN roll out on the FTTC contract between the Melbourne CBD, Eastern suburbs & South East Surburbs providing career progression within an organisation that value & support their employees development.

The Role

To provide direct supervision of sub contractors as will as internal crews for all field activities on the NBN roll out. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring work is carried out in accordance with the project programme, quality targets as agreed with the client & ensuring all work is conducted in a safe & effective manner in line with HSE work practices & policies.

The Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day activity of field staff, equipment and materials to ensure that the performance of field work occurs with agreed schedules
  • Ensure the standard of all work in the field is of a high quality and in accordance with work practices and standards required by the Client, the Company and service providers
  • Assist to identify and develop process and work practices to improve productivity and reduce the costs of field work activities
  • Manage scope changes in accordance with Commercial Management Procedures
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and 3rd party stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Ensure all staff and contractors are following all policies and procedures set by the client and our clients quality, environmental and safety plans
  • Lead and maintain positive team, motivating people to achieve the highest levels of job satisfaction

Qualifications/Experienced required

  • Minimum of 5 years site experience in a utilities network construction environment leading field operations
  • Posses an expert technical knowledge of the relevant aspects of the various networks and the work practices required by the client
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen
  • Posses a high level of organisation skills to achieve production targets
  • Posses Civil pit and pipe technical knowledge
  • Posses Fibre design and installation knowledge
