The Client

My Client is a multi-national biopharmaceutical company focusing on creating value for people living with neurology and immunology conditions.


The Role

The primary function of this role is to contribute to the efficient operation of my client’s Australian business objectives and vision by ensuring that Supply Chain Management processes determined at group level are followed and implemented locally whilst taking into account local characteristics and regulations.


The Responsibilities

  • Demand Management
  • Lead local S&OP
  • Ensure processes are in place to secure an appropriate stock level in the country
  • Coordinate Supply Chain aspects of new product launches or Patients programs
  • Inventory Management
  • Monitor and control on-hand inventory to prevent out of stock situations or excessive inventory
  • Coordinate the receipt and release of products (temp loggers, deviations, release and quarantine of stock) with Global Supply Chain, Customs Brokers, 3PL, Regulatory…
  • Coordinate import/export transactions (psychotropic, foreign medication products…), together with the supplier, Regulatory and the Customs Broker
  • Coordinate the destruction of stock & obtain the corresponding Certificates of Destruction
  • Service Provider Relationships Management
  • Manage local vendors (3PL) according to guidance provided by the External Network Governance and ensure that service is compliant with agreements in place
  • Manage Risk Assessment for local vendors and ensure that any required corrective/preventive actions are implemented on a timely manner
  • Coordinate relationships with 3PL and wholesalers for: the launch of new products / formulations, update on wholesalers price change, policy change.
  • Systems & Global Tools
  • Act as Local Key User for SAP SD module: set up new product codes, update gross and transfer prices, add new customers, update accruals, daily monitoring of the 3PL interface reports…
  • Coordinate the relationship between Global IT, Global Key User (GKU) and the 3PL in order to reach system fixing or processes amendments if/ when needed
  • Maintain customer’s details updated and make sure they match in SAP and the 3PL system
  • Respond to the Finance Team and Genpact (outsource) queries regarding stock level, adjustments and stock in transit
  • Maintain forecasting tool in collaboration with appropriate local stakeholders
  • Coordinate SCM aspects of recalls of products from the market, together with Global SCM, local QA, local RA, local Business... Part of the local recall team
  • Provide stock report to business units on an ad-hoc basis
  • GMP/GDP Compliance Management
  • Ensure Affiliates and partners (3PL) comply with all GMP/GDP Regulations
  • Reporting and KPI
  • Monitor 3PL and SAP daily reports
  • Process Free of Charge orders
  • Manage the supply of free of charge orders: seeking authorization for free of charge order, organising dispatch, reporting to the TGA on SAS orders
  • Reconcile Starter Packs records and destruction
  • Starter Packs; Demos and general samples
  • Operational Administration
  • Raise Purchase orders and confirming goods receipt in SAP



The Requirements

  • Good command of supply chain and distribution concepts within the Pharma/Healthcare industry
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and influencing skills
  • High level of organisational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Patient and Customer focused approach to all activities
  • Ability to solve issue in an efficient and compliant way
  • Ability to collect, analyse and act on data to allow better decision making
  • Project/process management skills
  • Continuous improvement mind-set
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, in particular Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Experience in database management and SAP SD MM PP
