This role will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the business relating to the warehouse operation, ensuring all staff are following OHS guidelines set out by the business. It will include Receiving, Despatch and Credit functions, managing KPIs and reporting to support continuous improvement. Manage warehouse personnel issues including training, development and disciplinary issues. Being accountable for the warehouse and distribution activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilisation of the facilities for storing and distribution of product.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with team leaders and leading hands to ensure the completion of work within the timeframes set down in the Service Level Agreement with customers ensuring service excellence
  • Scheduling all inbound air, sea and local shipments to ensure steady flow of work
  • Manage labour resources in line with agreed productivity levels, rostering and management of sick leave
  • Manage headcount in accordance to budget
  • Manage maintenance of forklifts and other plan equipment
  • Assist with bin maintenance and slotting exercises to ensure system / shelf integrity
  • Monitor individual and team KPIs to ensure delivery of Seamless , Responsive Solutions
  • Ensure OH&S guidelines are incorporated into daily activities
  • Compile monthly OH&S report packs and resolve any incidents or hazards aas reported
  • Chair monthly toolbox meetings with staff
  • Challenge existing work processes to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Implement a culture of teamwork
  • Implement corrective action as required in line with company policy
  • Ensure the timely processing of inbound produce
  • Supervise and train the receiving team to ensure continuous improvements of processes to meet contractual agreement service levels
  • Manage labour resources effectively to optimise the team KPIs
  • Review of operational processes and streamline where possible
  • Drive service improvement initiative to ensure delivery of high levels of customer satisfaction in line with company targets
  • Responsible for warehouse budget preparation and delivery of profits
  • Key customer account management

Essential requirements

  • 5 years warehouse supervisory experience
  • Analytical skills including managing KPIs
  • People management skills (165+ team members)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Time management skills
  • SAP experience
  • OH&S training for Supervisors

Desirable experience

  • Experience in 3PL environment
  • Automotive / Industrial industry experience
  • Change management exposure
  • Experience with ISO 9001
