In this exciting role, you have the opportunity to work towards education that is more equitable and of higher quality, in a province in Cambodia. Through training and on-the-job coaching of key education staff, you strengthen organizational and individual capacities in education planning, management, monitoring and evaluation. These improved capacities enable staff to give the right schools the right support so that more Cambodian children can go to school and learn better.

Allowance and accommodation All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home. VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic. Please note: Funding for this placement is in the process of being secured and thus we are inviting applications and the process will continue pending the confirmation of funding being approved. We are looking for enthusiastic managers in the public realm, preferably in education, keen to share their skills with Cambodian education managers, administrators and school directors. If you like statistics and use data to inform your next steps, if you enjoy planning, budgets, monitoring activities, evaluation and linking the dots, this is your ideal job! The minimum requirement is five years’ experience in a leadership position, preferably in a board or cluster of schools or other public institution. You hold at least a Bachelor Degree complemented with leadership or management training. Note that for this role, interpersonal skills are equally important as experience and qualifications. Particularly your ability to build strong working relationships, adaptability and resilience will determine your success and enjoyment in this unique placement.
