Do you have precious experience supporting general accounting activities, inclduing general ledger maintenance and financial reporting? Are you looking for a longer term opportunity with a leading organization? Do you currently live or are willing to relocate to the Fort Nelson, BC area?

If so we have an excellent opportunity for you! We are currently looking for an Accountant to work a 15 month assignment in our clients Fort Nelson, BC location. In this role you will work full time hours a be paid a competitive rate of up to $33 per hour, based on qualifications. As an Accountant you will be responsible for the following:

• Monthly accounting transactions and reporting for FSJ or FN Area
• Monitor costs and analyze variances for FSJ or FN Area
• Prepare cost estimates & forecasts
• Facilitate internal client meetings
• Create ledger entries & prepare reconciliations
• Maintain and monitor project accounts
• Prepare O&M budgets
• Provide financial advice & support to team members and clients
• Support area management in proactive cost control initiatives
• Support and mentor finance team members
• Improve processes and update documentation
• Provide ad hoc project and reporting support as required

• Gain experience working for a leading energy industry organization
• Work full time hours on a 15 month assignment
• Earn up to $33 per hour based on qualifications
• Fort Nelson, BC location

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
• Working towards an Accounting Diploma or equivalent
• 2 – 4 years accounting experience
• Above average computer skills includes strength in Excel
• Valid driver’s license

Desired Qualifications:
• Professional accounting designation, or enrollment in CPA accounting designation program.
• SAP experience
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Self-motivated; ability to work independently
• Time management skills and customer service oriented
