We are currently looking for an Associate Accountant to support staff professional in General Accounting in our Insurance and Consulting Industry-leading client's Ottawa office. If hired you will work full-time hours on a 6-month assignment (beginning ASAP) with strong potential of hire, be paid $23.08 per hour, and be responsible for supporting general accounting duties, including the following:

Under direct supervision, performs entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks. Duties may be performed in various groups within Controllership including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Control and General Ledger

• Prepare journal entries, money moves, payments, billing, administrative system accounting reports and/or consolidated statements
• Provide research under the direction of management or accountants
• Prepare and analyze various accounting reports
• Material transfers and tracking for tradeshows
• Coordinate revenue and expense accruals
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, agreements, procedures, and tax regulations
• Other duties as assigned by the manager

• Requires 2-year Accounting degree or a high school diploma with equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting, bookkeeping or administrative experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office - including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
