Our client, one of Canada’s leading professional services firms, provides audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services, is hiring a Billing Coordinator for a 7 month contract with long term potential.

Responsibilities:
• Be proactive and work closely with the engagement team to identify billing opportunities
• Ensures billing process and procedures are followed according to established guidelines and
applicable legislation in all provinces
• Review and understand engagement letters and follow up as required
• Provide analysis on projects as requested
• Establish the procedures regarding expenses and the reporting needs of the client at the beginning
of the project
• Provide support to new partners/engagement team members regarding billing
• Clear old WIP, unapplied cash, and retainers
• Ensure the consistent application of the billing rules pertaining to entities
• Identify billing tax issues and ensure that the tax rules are consistently followed
• Superior ability to prioritize in a fast paced multi tasked environment
• Ability to build relationships virtually and work with all levels within the organization including
Partners
• Upon completion of engagements, ensure all time and expenses have been cleared and engagement
is closed by the administrator
• Respond to inquiries with respect to WIP
• Process invoices as required in accordance with our billing policy
• Bring to the attention of the Billing Supervisor requests which do not comply with the firm’s billing
policy and resolve with the Supervisor’s assistance

Qualifications
Requirements:
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Intermediate/Expert knowledge on taxes as it relates to billing
• Preferred : Bachelor’s degree and/or a professional certification in a related field, especially in
Reporting support
• Communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and staff
• Establish respect and rapport with team and others
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in a finance role with a law or accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and analytical skills
• Strategic thinker who is able to contribute to service initiatives
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Intermediate/Expert knowledge of Aderant would be an asset
• Intermediate/Expert knowledge of SAP would be an asset
