Commercial Civil Earthworks Project Coordinator/Estimator
Edmonton, Alberta

Randstad Edmonton Engineering is hiring a permanent full time Commercial Civil Earthworks Project Coordinator/Estimator for a company that is project and people driven, hiring people who excel at their work, take on new challenges while exploring new ideas.

Position Summary

Reporting to senior management, this position will focus primarily on estimating and contract administration for projects in both the office and field locations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain project schedule and progress reports; ensuring milestone date are achieved by working closely with project superintendent
• Communicate, coordinate, and liaise with project staff and subcontractors
• Procurement of materials
• Actively pursue achieving CCC and FAC; progressively updating the turnover documents.
• Complete Monthly billing/ invoicing, monitor and track 3rd party costs
• Monitor and track job costs from 3rd party vendors
• Complete full quantity take-off of all labour, equipment and materials required to complete the project as per contract specifications to ensure accuracy of pricing.
• Assess and understand the project specifications, contract structure for payment, schedule and QA/QC requirements
• Prepare subcontractor, material and vendor RFQ’s
• Prepare project execution plans, proposed schedules and other deliverables required to support the proposal submission
• Compile Data in an organized manner and present to senior management for review
• Work closely with suppliers, subcontractors and vendors through tender process.
• Manage time accordingly to meet tender deadlines and closing dates

Qualifications Include:

Candidates preferred to C.E.T or Civil Engineering Degree
Progressive construction experience in a leadership role specifically in civil earthworks construction
2-3 years’ experience in civil construction project management in commercial municipal and industrial projects ranging from $2M- $30M
Ability to work on tight deadlines and thrive under pressure
Superior computer skills in MS Office, estimating software, CAD modeling software
Experience with leadership and management of people, communication (verbal and written), planning and organization
