The position involves managing projects, report writing, specification writing, contract administration, providing technical design, oversite, and review to the other engineering and design staff on Land Development, Transportation, and Municipal Infrastructure engineering projects.
More precisely, the job will entail the performing the following tasks:
• Review of site grading, site servicing, and storm water management designs and drawings,
• Preparing design briefs, storm water management reports and associated calculations and modelling,
• Project management and liaison with project stakeholders to deliver efficient and cost-effective projects outcomes,
• Oversite of the technical work of more junior staff,
• The proactive advancement of design and modelling techniques,
• Provide input and direction for grading, servicing, storm water management, and land development engineering solutions.
• Occasional site work as required.
• Coordination of design and drawings with other team members and consultants,

Our ideal candidate is a graduate of a Civil Engineering program at a Canadian University and a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience.
Given the wide range of projects, SBM will consider candidates with experience, education, and background in: subdivision and site plan Land Development, transportation, and municipal infrastructure.
The following skills, strengths, and interests are required:
• Excellent analytical skills,
• Excellent knowledge of grading, servicing, and storm water management design and modelling,
• A keen eye for detail and pride in one’s work,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite,
• Effective writing and communication skills,
• Commitment to ongoing professional and person growth,
• Valid Ontario drivers license and a reliable vehicle,
• Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team environment,
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario,
• Knowledge and proficiency in AutoDesk Civil 3D is considered an asset.
