We have an amazing opportunity for a Senior Communications role!

Manages the development, production and dissemination of communications products destined for internal and external audiences and develops, writes, edits, produces and disseminates such products.

Researches, analyzes and disseminates information gathered from public environment analyses and media coverage to determine the implications for government policy and program initiatives. Searches out intelligence on the reaction to departmental initiatives, programs and services from outside interest, such as other federal departments and agencies, other levels of governments, stakeholders, the private sector and non-government organizations, and makes recommendations on communications approaches.

Writes contract specifications for requests for proposals for communications products or services.

Leads and manages short-term project teams and communications initiatives.


•Experience in providing strategic communications advice to senior management
•Experience in analyzing the public environment, and development of communications strategies.
•Extensive experience in writing, editing and producing communications products (news releases, backgrounders, media lines, Qs&As, success stories, briefing notes).
•Experience in coordinating communications projects from start to finish including providing strategic direction and project coordination.
•Experience in Government Communications and processes.
•Experience in planning and developing interdepartmental/regional communications.
•Experience working on communications issues related to Indigenous and/or Northern issues, including, but not limited to, joint communications planning and issues management.
