Randstad is currently hiring a Counterbalance forklift operator for a long term opportunity with a industry leader in Ottawa's west end! The forklift operator is a core role where you would assist with receiving, storing, moving product, order picking and inventory control! This opportunity also has the potential to become a permanent position.

Duties would include, but are not limited to:
- unload inbound materials
- verify the accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items by size, weight, and UPC code
- record any product discrepancies or damage
- move product from the staging area to production machines
- use of a forklift, pallet jack and hand carts
- sort and store items as per proper procedure
- maintain computerized inventory records, and take physical count periodically
- forklifts equipped with tablet and RF scanner, which are used regularly.
- Other duties, as assigned

- Fast paced environment with a friendly team and overtime available
- Day shifts - 7AM to 330PM
- $17.50 per hour
- Reliable transportation an asset
- Friendly work environment
- All you need is steel toes, all other PPE provided
- Potential to become a permanent position

- 1 year minimum of experience operating a counterbalance forklift
- 1 year minimum experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Must have a valid forklift license
- Able to communicate clearly in English (read, write, speak)
- Steel toe boots/shoes
- Understanding of imperial measurements, reading tape measure, and adding fractions
- The position requires continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and some heavy lifting
