Our client in Vaughan is looking for a Human Resources Manager with experience in a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role and the HR Manager will look after all areas of HR and provide guidance and support to managers and employees.

What you’ll be doing:
• Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact and resource for employees, develop and maintain relationships, advise managers on ways to build and maintain solid teams
• Management Relations: support HR requirements of managers, develop relationships and trust in order to act as an advisor, provide expert guidance on ESA and legislative issues
• Performance management: Provide managers with guidance and coaching to get the best from their teams, identify training opportunities, work with managers to develop performance plans, coach managers on discipline issues, manage annual review process
• Recruitment: Support the recruitment processes to help meet demand, source and interview candidates, maintain candidate pipelines, work with hiring managers, prepare offer letters
• Health and Safety: Manage the Health & Safety program and JHSC, develop and implement procedures and programs to ensure the safety of all employees, manage work-related accidents files (WSIB, Return to Work, leave of absence due to injury, etc.), prepare reports
• Compensation: researching and maintaining salary bands, liaising with payroll, administering benefits and leaves
• Training: Work with managers to identify training needs, coordinate and facilitate training as required
• Other HR Functions: develop and deliver communication pieces, provide education on HR policies and procedures, participate on the social committee, special projects as needed

Do you have the right qualifications?
• University Degree in Human Resources Management or HR certificate, CHRP/L is an asset
• Minimum of 5 years of HR experience with at least 2 years of HR management
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is essential, food manufacturing would be an asset
• Strong understanding of how HR can impact the business and experience with day to day plant operations, comfortable being on the floor
• Ability to work autonomously, gain buy in and make sound decisions
• Results driven and able to plan and implement HR initiatives
• Ability to quickly build relationships with employees and managers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid knowledge of employment legislation, H&S, WSIB, claims management
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to use good judgment
• Self-starter, flexible and a confident positive attitude
