PRIMARY DUTIES
Maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment including conveyors, gear boxes, shafts, mixers, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES
o Analyse and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical situations.
o PLC troubleshooting.
o Inspect, maintain, repair and overhaul electro-mechanical systems and PLCs, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment.
o Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions.
o Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
o Inspect, adjust, maintain, repair and overhaul mechanical equipment such as: power transmission, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
o Install new electrical and/or electronic equipment and/or electrical wiring.
o Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
o Plan layout and install electrical wiring for equipment and fixtures.
o Responsible for equipment lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy.
o All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
o Know and understand methods, equipment and materials used in both the electrical and mechanical trades.
o Thorough working knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) units and other computer based equipment.
o Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
o Work from blueprints, shop drawings and sketches.
o Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
o 442A Industrial Electrician Licence
o Food industry and/or packaging industry experience
