Role: Lead Dispatcher
Location: Acheson, AB
Type: Permanent

We are currently seeking a qualified, motivated and experienced Lead Dispatcher for our Acheson facility. Working with a large national transportation and logistics company, the Dispatcher will be responsible for exceeding the customers’ requirements, dispatching loads, scheduling equipment and logistics.

This is a very hands-on Dispatcher role in an industrial environment that requires a high level of customer service, located in Acheson, AB, adn requires North American Cross Boarder experience.

This is a Monday to Friday role, however does also require rotational on-call schedule and some overtime.

The main responsibilities of the Dispatcher include:

- building long term, meaningful relationships with customers, partners and teammates
- Ensure maximum productivity for all partners
- Care about the success of the business, partners and teammates
- Maintain freight forwarding documentation for all approved carriers

Primary Responsibilities:

- Working with TruckMate software to plan and coordinate shipments and communicate distribution to drivers
- Schedule drivers routes to ensure optimal utilization of manpower and equipment
- Monitor and maintain driver safety records
- Manage the daily activity of the fleet
- Liaise with maintenance to ensure availability for maintenance and inspections
- Prepare reports on trucking performance and productivity
- Maintain working knowledge of products hauled, regulations and operating authorities
- Ensure driver’s compliance with all Safety regulations when dispatching
- Data Entry and maintenance of hours and mileage logged

Qualifications
What We Are Looking For:

- Previous experience working with TruckMate or AS400 software is required
- Looking for a candidate with experience in a fast paced logistics dispatching role
- Proven ability to balance multiple, at times conflicting, priorities
- Experience with flat decks is an asset
- Pro-active and assertive
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Superior data entry skills
- Strong sense of customer relations, both internal and external
- 2 positive supervisory references
