Middleware Specialist

Job Summary:

The Middleware Specialist will be responsible for ongoing development, maintenance and troubleshooting of the integration between the Middleware (Dell Boomi / PuchOut2Go), Coupa, and the various ERP’s deployed by the business. A successful applicant will have broad technical understanding of various application integration methods and tools including web services, message queues, file transfer, process orchestration, and extract-transform-load (ETL), etc.

The Middleware Specialist will manage and execute the regular deployment of middleware upgrades, coordinate OS patching and updating with the various ERP teams, and support ETL processes on a daily basis. They will also be responsible for the technical planning, management and deployment of regular system changes in accordance with the Coupa quarterly release cycle in collaboration with the Coupa Benefits Lead.

Key Responsibilities:


•Provides 2nd level proactive and reactive service and performance management for mission critical systems. Identifies requirements for real-time alerts to notify support groups of a current or potential performance problem.
•Responds to real-time performance alerts to resolve performance problems, performs regular on-going review and analysis of performance data to identify current performance problems and proactively detects potential future performance problems.
•Handle production support on application integration incidents/problems and provide timely resolution and communication
•Follow change management standards and procedures
•Develop application outage communication procedures
•Develop Help Desk procedures, scripts
•Facilitate disaster recovery planning and testing for solution


•Significant experience in the following: Apache, Tomcat, IIS, IHS, activemq artemis
•Basic scripting and development skills
•Core skill set should include industry knowledge and experience with Middleware, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, SSL encryption, SSL certificates, authentication, AD, DNS, and web servers such as Apache and IIS, and general application implementation.
•Experience with data mapping and secure B2B file exchanges
•SQL 2008/2012 experience required
•Demonstrate a broad knowledge of system integration options to include Batch file processing, API interfaces, EDI, etc.
•ERP experience preferred
•Superior customer service skills and propensity to take ownership in finding answers for client questions and/or resolving any issues they may be experiencing
•Java or ABAP programming;
•JVM tuning;
•Customize solution installations utilizing the following technologies: [ Java | javascript | XML / XSL | HTML | CSS]
•Strong experience establishing Middleware technologies like Orion Rhapsody, Ensemble, Mirth, WebSphere, MQ, TIBCO, Web Methods, and JBoss.
•Java and SQL (nice to have C#, Powershell, BASH, Perl)
