Industrial Painters $22.58 per hour in Guelph.
Our Client in the Guelph Location are looking for Industrial Painters.
Have straight night shifts available. Heavy Lifting could be required up to 30 pounds. Must be flexible for overtime.

• Select appropriate paint or mix paints using automated paint mixing equipment according to a pre-determined formula
• Tend or operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare items for application of paint, lacquer or other protective or decorative coatings
• Tend or operate automated spray paint, dip or flow coating equipment or other mechanized painting or product coating application equipment
• Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items or items on moving conveyor system with protective or decorative coatings
• Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes
• Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment. Clean other equipment including; paint booth, conveyors, cones, spray heads, etc. as required.
• May prepare and apply stencils, computer-generated decals or other decorative items on finished products.
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Qualifications
• Experience as an industrial spray painter using conventional and/or air-assisted automated painting system. Looking for experience with electrostatic paint systems. Preferably powder paint.
• Ability to read hazard signs, and signs regarding the use of protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves. Read product labels and paint codes. Make entries in tables to record information about a paint mix, such as dye lot numbers, application times and temperatures.
• Ability to take readings on gauges, such as the gauges on electrostatic drying guns, and compare to operational standards for the gauges.
• Interact with co-workers to co-ordinate work and discuss problems. Communicate with supervisors to receive or clarify schedules and to discuss changes in work orders.
• Ability to solve problems, find inconsistencies, and decide whether or not pieces need to be sanded or washed before being painted. Prioritize job tasks to meet deadlines. Ability to work on several projects at once, preparing and priming for one project while paint on another project dries. Co-ordinate activities with co-workers to share tools, equipment and work space.
• Ability to work independently and work with a partner to move large pieces. Work as a member of a team in a production line and collaborate with one another to resolve quality problems as needed.
• Use computer-operated machinery. For example, may use computer time clocks that automatically calculate time spent per job when cards are passed through scanners.
• Learn on the job and read a variety of materials to learn about new products and equipment. Take safety courses, such as training in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and in proper use of respirators and other safety equipment as needed.
