Our client, a leader in consumer packaged goods, is hiring a Payroll Assistant for a one year contract with long term potential.


Key responsibilities:

• Assisting Payroll specialist in verification of bi-weekly and other payroll activities
• Assisting with Payment and Reconciliation of 3rd Party Remittances
• Assists with employee requests and case management
• Preparation and Maintenance of Supporting Documentation for Internal Auditors, if applicable
• Ensure country compliance with internal control standards
• Year- end support - testing, validating, annual filings (WCB, CSST), year- end file adjustments (PA, Auto, stock, etc.) create manual tax forms for impatriates, etc.
• Distributing payroll reports to HR and Finance
• Submitting one-off files (quarterly sales bonuses, etc.)
• Assist in calculation of taxes for stock option and RSU's
• Maintain payroll and finance issue log

Qualifications
• Post-Secondary Education
• 1-2 years of work related experience
• CPA designation preferred
• Preferred knowledge of payroll regulations (i.e. ROE, T4s, T2200, taxation)
• Excellent computing skills; MS Office is mandatory
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform math calculations
• Possess a strong work ethic with the ability to handle confidential material
• Requires excellent people skills, communication, ability to prioritize, and discretion
• A Team Player with strong customer service orientation
