We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer with Semiconductor experience for a well-established manufacturing client of ours.


Responsibilities:

•Collaborate within Process Engineering to develop and optimize semiconductor fabrication processes such as lapping, polishing, metallization, photolithography, etching, passivation, encapsulation, etc.
•Conducting performance testing of materials and devices and providing feedback to crystal growth and product manufacturing
•Support Process Engineering in executing Design of Experiments (DOE) and conducting statistical analysis of data for process optimization and reporting
•Documenting the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for various device fabrication processes and material/device characterization instruments
•Carry out continuous improvement opportunities utilizing a wide variety of basic analytical techniques (run charts, histograms, pareto charts)
•Coordinate effectively with cross functional groups (Manufacturing, R&D, Quality etc.) and with guidance to support yield improvement, cycle time and cost reduction
•Assist in developing process automation solutions to improve process quality and reduce process cost
•Assist in new equipment operation/process qualification following the established validation procedure
•Contributing to the tech transfer function between R&D, Engineering and Production;
•Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause
•Provide support for training and certification of Production Technicians.


Qualifications:

•Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent.
•A minimum of two years’ experience in manufacturing process development
•Experience in semiconductor material and device fabrication
•Hands-on crystal polishing, chemical processing and clean room experience
•Statistical analysis experience using MiniTab or JMP software
•A very hands-on and innovative individual that works well in a team environment
•Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
•Excellent compensation and relocation package available for qualified out of province candidates.
