Our client, a leader in the education industry, is looking for an experienced Project Manager who has infrastructure project experience to join their team as their temporary employee for a defined 3 year term

POSITION 3 - Job Title: Infrastructure Project Manager
Reporting To: Senior Project Manager


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, the infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of infrastructure related projects. These include office modifications, staff moves, hardware upgrades, capital development projects (new buildings), Audio–Visual upgrades and network upgrades for example LAN ROOM fibre runs, Rack installs.

The Project Manager will also be working with PMO, Facilities and ITS Management team to clarify project scope and objectives, identify all linkages and dependencies with other projects and develop strategies to successfully achieve project results. . The Project Manager will be working with the ITS Management team and with staff to refine and clarify project scope and objectives, identify all linkages and dependencies with other projects and develop strategies to successfully achieve project results.

The candidate should have experience on previous infrastructure projects in which different stakeholders have been involved (General contractor, subtrades) and should have experience in interpreting design drawings and relaying changes to the contractors.

Duration of Need: 3 years Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:

- The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Project Management or equivalent training and
experience; must be working towards CAPM or PMP Certification.

- minimum of 3 year of work-related experience.

- The candidate should have experience on previous infrastructure projects in which different stakeholders have been involved (General contractor, subtrades) and should have experience in interpreting design drawings and relaying changes to the contractors.


Experience working in the education and/or public sector is considered an asset.

- The incumbent will demonstrate strong leadership skills, and will have the ability to build consensus to facilitate decision making through consultation. They will be comfortable managing matrix project teams.

- They have the ability to communicate effectively and gain the respect of clients because of their education, experience, achievements,
honesty and integrity.

- the ability to work with a variety of project management tools including Microsoft Project and the ability to adapt to an environment where change is frequent and process ambiguity exists.
