    We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for a busy Terminal client of ours in the Vancouver area. The position would oversee and be responsible for management of engineering and maintenance projects and environmental affairs as well as permitting and capital projects relating to terminal facilities.Key Responsibilities:Engineering Management-Acts as a signing officer for the Company.-Responsible for the management of terminal engineering projects and related activities.-Responsible for updating and management of engineering records .-Working closely with the Manager, Maintenance, responsible for the management of all terminal maintenance activities.-Assists Assistant Manager, Maintenance regarding management of the engineering and maintenance departments-Assists the Vice President & General Manager with development of operating plans and budgets, capital projects, and long term strategic planning.-Assists the Controller to review and contribute to the Capital Expenditure Plan (CEP) process and oversight.-Confers with the Vice President & General Manager on an ongoing basis to establish Company Policy and to develop strategic plans for the Terminal.-Coordinates the activities of engineering consultants and contractors on maintenance and capital projects. Responsible for reviewing the accuracy of billing from these service providers.-Responsible for the development of Company policies as they apply to engineering and environmental activities and is responsible for their application within the Terminal.Environmental Affairs Management-Responsible for site environmental activities including maintenance of the Environmental Management System and compliance with all permits and regulations.-Compiles and submits environmental reports as required by regulatory agencies. Facilitates inspections by environmental agencies and generates quarterly internal reports on environmental activities for submission to the HSS&E Committee of the Board of Directors.-Responsible for the management of projects relating to environmental issues such as site remediation, waste disposal, waste water treatment, etc. Ensures project costs are monitored and do not exceed approved budget amounts.Health & Safety Management-Shares responsibility for ensuring that an appropriate health and safety program is in place for contractors and service providers and that the program is effective in establishing and maintaining safe working objectives .-Ensures the company is in compliance with all health and safety regulations , policies, and standards as they relate to construction. Ensures the Company's Health and Safety Program is current and that all service providers are aware of regulations, policies, and standards exercising due diligence.Stakeholder Management-Ensures that the VFPA, regulators and other stakeholders are informed with respect to construction, engineering, and environmental activities at the terminal. Qualifications:•A degree in an engineering discipline is required. A professional engineering designation in the province of British Columbia or the ability to gain registration is required•Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation relating to terminal operations .•Understanding of labour relations issues and human resource management.•Technical engineering knowledge of bulk material and bulk liquids handling equipment.•Knowledge of issues relating to port management and marine shipping.•Project management experience is required.
