    JOB DESCRIPTIONPROJECT ENGINEER – Pipelines Leak DetectionEdmonton, AlbertaContractOur client from the midstream Oil and Gas sector is looking to hire an experienced Project Engineer for Leak detection design and project coordination. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting proposed and ongoing pipeline projects.Specific Accountabilities :1- Provide services for proposed and ongoing pipeline projects: •Review Project scope and design, and establish requirements for leak detection •Attend Project meetings (i.e. SORT, progress review, project scope and design review, hydraulic design, RTT, OAC, Startup) •Establish working relationships with project groups •Ensure effective project communication to key stakeholders •Develop budget estimates for leak detection scope for each Project •Maintain and organize complete project documentation2- Perform Technical and Gating reviews within the Project Integration framework •Review project plans, designs, drawings to ensure requirements of Mainline Leak Detection Equipment Standard (D12-105) are met •Provide technical review of leak detection scope documentation3-Coordination of issue resolution from project planning to project closeout •Business Issue Management (BIM) issues raised from Project reviews •Analyze technical issues and solicit support from other disciplines •Make recommendation for practical resolution and path forward •Facilitate stakeholder discussions and obtain stakeholder consensus on an acceptable resolution •Determine fit for purpose LD technology application requirements4- Technical Services •Further develop and elaborate on Leak Detection standards and requirements •Advise on technical design and best practices •Establish new processes and improve existing processes •Review LD material requisitions •Establish criteria and review designs/ results from other engineering consultants5- Support LD Groups and facilitate the progress of Leak Detection deliverables •Resource to support activities of modeling and Implementation Group, Leak Detection Engineer •Coordination for LD groups during Linefill and Startup activities, communication to stakeholders •Schedule activities and deliverables to meet project deadlines6- Facilities Leak Detection •Support planning activities and opportunities for deployment •Develop a further framework for new and ongoing projects •Long-range planning activities and initiativesRequired: •An Engineering Degree; PMP certified•Professional Engineer designation with APEGA•Minimum of 10 years directly related Pipelines Project experience•Excellent knowledge of Pipelines, Oil and Gas Hydraulics, pipeline inspection methodology, good understanding of technical drawings•Capability to work both independently and in a team setting•Highly developed communication and organizational skills•Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve a wide variety of problems•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Power BI, SharePoint, Drawing Management System•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet established deadlinesIf this sounds like the right role for you and you are confident at what you bring to the table, apply now!Please note: All candidates are subject to Criminal, Reference, Drug and Alcohol Test, and other checks.Although we appreciate all applications, only those that meet the minimum job qualifications will be considered for this role.
