Our client is looking for a QA analyst that has tested in a .NET environment, this is a contract that is located in Oakville.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will undertake the following:

• Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables
• Review the user stories based on the priorities and allocation
• Actively participate in Backlog review, Sprint planning and Scrum meetings to represent QA
• Provide estimates and status updates for the assigned projects
• Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan
• Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
• Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts
• Prepare test data, test environment and execute automated scripts.
• Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
• Prepare and execute test cases, report and analyze defects.
• Isolate, replicate, and manage defects and verify defect fixes.
• Execute functional testing such as End to End, Business Process validation, UI/Functionality Testing, Database Testing, System Testing, Integration Testing, Web and mobile Testing
• Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment including validating stored procedures, jobs and triggers
• Identify any potential quality issues/risks per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
• Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
• Document the lessons learned and knowledge base.


• Minimum 5 years’ work experience in Software quality assurance and testing
• Strong technical ability with knowledge of systems software, including architecture and infrastructure components
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, while providing excellent customer service
• Proven problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical problems
• Knowledge of Microsoft Testing Manager (MTM)
• Working knowledge of any Source Code control software (TFS)
• Strong web services testing skills using SOAP UI / any other software
• Strong SQL query language scripting
• Proficient knowledge of application integration
• Experience working in .NET Environment
• Experience working with BizTalk as a middleware
• Experience working with TFS (Team Foundation Server)
• Experience working with Agile and Iterative methodologies
• Ability to work as an individual contributor and in a team
• Ability to communicate effectively in a business-friendly language across a spectrum of IT, business and external partners and at all levels of the organization
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology or related discipline
• Nice to have QA Certification
