Great opportunity in Surrey, BC for a full-time opportunity. We are currently looking for a Saw Operator / Material Handler for our busy warehouse that specializes in the manufacturing of automatic control valves for the global water industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preparation of material to be processed, including performing general duties with machining equipment, check dimensions using measuring equipment and identify problems or material shortages and report them to the supervisor.


What you need to know:

Shift time: Monday-Friday (06:00 AM - 02:30 PM)

-Follows all of the safety policies of the company, safe working procedures, emergency procedures and accident and safety reporting
procedures.
-Performs general duties within the machining department.
-Input cut lengths into CNC horizontal band saw.
-Perform weekly clean-up duties.
-Current forklift license.
-Be able to safely lift 30lbs / 13.5kg
-Aware of MSI / ergonomics*
-Participate in EHS programs
-You are capable of driving, safely operating and be certified to drive a forklift
-You are capable of operating pneumatic hand tools
-Perform material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing/unpacking
-Transport raw materials and finished metal products manually or using forklifts, pallet jacks or other devices.
-Follows all of the safety policies of the company, safe working procedures, emergency procedures and accident, and safety reporting procedures.
-Runs production parts when required on manual equipment.
-Checks dimensions with instructed measuring equipment.
-Completes paperwork as required.
-Identifies quality problems and reports them to the Lead Hand.
-Reports material shortages to immediate supervisor or production control.
-Works as a team within the machining department and interacts professionally with other departments in the organization

Qualifications
-English 10
-Math 11
-WHMIS Course
-Basic Computer Applications “Advance Tracker”.
-Mechanical aptitude to be determined by the Machine Shop Supervisor.
-The ideal candidate will have experience/exposure to safe forklift operation Class 1/4/5
-Be able to safely lift 30lbs/13.5kg
-Aware of MSI/ergonomics*
-Participate in EHS programs
-You are confident in using a variety of material handling equipment
-You are capable of operating pneumatic hand tools
-Adaptability & sense of urgency
-Good attitude and can work well with no supervision
-Able to work in a team environment
