Our client a large scale Architectural firm is currently seeking an Architectural Specification Writer.


• Prepares outline specifications for design development phases, assembles project manuals for construction documents phase; and prepares addenda during bidding phase
• Provides problem solving assistance in connection with the architectural design and detailing of large projects
• Reviews shop drawings and material submittals for general conformance with design intent
• Conduct quality control review of construction documents while researching and preparing specifications
• Checks and coordinates details and dimensions
• Performs material research for preparation of project specifications
• Computer skill that are essential include Word, Excel and a familiarity with Revit and/ or BIM is also preferred


• Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technologist,
• Registered member of Specification Writers Association of Canada (RSW)
• Thorough knowledge of architectural & interior design, documentation, detailing, building materials and codes, construction techniques and costs, as well as building material compatibility and characteristics.
• Practical knowledge of general architecture & interior design practice including programming, site planning, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of industry standards, current product development, and architectural practices.
• Experience with contract language, liability, indemnifications, and definitions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative and professional work ethic
• LEED AP is prefered
