Our client in Waterloo is looking for an Architect/Software Engineer who likes to build complex computing platforms, to join their team on a permanent bases. The selected candidate will join their growing team solving challenging health science/medical problems by high performance computing platforms.
If you have 2+ years as a Software Architect, and 5+ years of Software Industry experience as a Software Engineer developing in Java or Python we want to hear from you.

Some responsibilities for this position:
* To Design server end software for large scale/highly available cloud systems in a high performance/high quality way creating high volume cloud computing applications. Public or Private Cloud experience is welcome
* Design, document and implement the interfaces between modules
* Troubleshoot and debug issues in a test and production environment.
* Create and execute the unit test plans as well as future test plans

Must have a Degree in Comp Sci, Software Eng or related field
3+ years with Java and/or Python Exp. as a software Developer
3+ years Experience with Asynchronous & object-oriented programming
2+ years Experience with Actor/Message based system or reactive programming
2+ years Experience with Streams ie: RxJava, Akka Streams, LINQ, JavaStreams
2+years Experience Building scalable infra software with distributed systems.
2+ years in a Cloud environment public or Private

The following criteria would be considered an asset to have but not required:

Experience with Agile/Scrum development workflow
Experience with distribute database system, preferably Cassandra
Experience with packaging with Docker and deployment in cluster
Experience with development/ admin under Linux/Unix Unix like systems
Experience with CI tools such as Jenkins
