We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for fulfill a 9 month contract engagement with a well established medical device client of ours in the Vancouver area.

The SQE is responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for raw materials and/or finished products obtained from the supply base. Works with suppliers and cross-departmental teams to improve supplier performance and positively impact quality on new and existing products.


•Designs, develops, and implements comprehensive supplier quality programs.
•Maintains, enforces, and measures supplier quality processes, including Aggregate Failure/Quality Tracking by commodity
•Responsible for supporting supplier facility surveys of existing and potential critical components providers
•Reviews and evaluates processes and services to correct Quality System and supplier deficiencies and to subsequently formulate improvements.
•Works to ensure product quality, performance, and conformity with applicable regulations and company established specifications.
•Recommends changes or other action as appropriate (supplier consolidation, quality improvement and cost reduction opportunity, etc)
•Analyzes and reviews product changes to ensure conformity with applicable regulations and company established specifications.
•Maintains the Quality System and its subparts as related to Supplier Quality.
•Provides topical knowledge in applicable domestic and international regulations and standards e.g., QSR, MDD, 13485 and CMDCAS.
•May be involved with outside Inspection of the Quality System: FDA and Notified Body auditors
•Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
•Minimum of 10%-15% travel


•Masters or Bachelors in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Biomedical Engineering
•2-6 yrs. Industry Experience
•Commodity Specific Technical Expertise (PCBA, Wire Harnesses, Machining, Sheet Metal, Molded Plastics, and OEM)
•Supplier / Project Management Experience
•Demonstrated Collaboration, Negotiation & Conflict Resolution Skills
•Knowledge of Six Sigma tools & methodologies, with proven ability to apply them
•Supplier Audit and or Lead Assessor Experience
•Knowledge of Quality Management System Tools, Continuous Improvement Methodologies & In-Depth Understanding of Site Level Products & Related Processes
•Knowledge of Quality System Standards QSR, ISO3485 and ISO9001
